Advanced Ensemble

Requirements:

• Is able to produce a good tone at a correct pitch

• Comfortably plays all recorders

• Should be able to play in keys up to four flats or four sharps

• Is comfortable playing all time signatures

• Is adept at sight-reading

• Has had experience switching meters within pieces

• Should be able to play at a fast speed

• Not intimidated by pieces where the notes extend past the bar-lines or the music has no bar-lines

• Should be able to play treble clef on their bass recorder

• Should be able to play bass clef on their tenor recorder
  

Note: We have, in the past, at times relaxed the requirement for bass recorder for members suffering from arthritis. If this is a problem for you personally, please consult Karen.

Additional note: Players who achieve the advanced level are not given a "life-time guaranteed membership." Those whose skills slip will hold back the rest of the class, and should, therefore, be thoughtful enough to practice to regain their skills, or change to the intermediate B class where they will be more comfortable.
