"The pre-Reformation liturgy in England was the most elaborate,
ornate, and theatrical of Western Christendom. The polyphonic
embellishments to this gorgeous ceremonialtoo seldom performed
because they are so carefully woven into the tapestry of the liturgyare
some of the most exquisite beauties of any age. Vox Vocal Ensemble
brings to light overlooked treasures written for the Divine Office
and the Lady Mass, including Wylkinsons monumental (even
Straussian) nine-part Salve Regina and peerless masterpieces by
John Sheppard"
