gemsGOTHAM EARLY MUSIC SCENE (GEMS) is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of early music in New York City and serves professional and amateur performers and ensembles, church organizations, audiences and enthusiasts. Get on their mailing list and receive On the Scene which features current New York performances of early music. Call: 212-866-0468 or E-mail.

To keep pace with the expansion of GEMS's activities, they have "spun off" four new websites. Visit the new online homes for Salon/Sanctuary Concerts maintained by Artistic Director Jessica Gould, GEMS Live!, Nina Stern's educational program S'Cool Sounds, and Sinfonia New York created by Artistic Director Christine Gummere. We will maintain pages with summary information for each of these GEMS projects on our own website, with links to the full sites for each.

nearsayGEMS has also subscribed to a new web-based event listing service called Nearsay. They have a good, useful site that keeps people informed about events of interest in their own neighborhoods. Pay them a visit, and look for GEMS presence in Arts & Culture, Night Life, and Upper West Side.
