Requirements:

• Is able to produce a reasonable tone at a correct pitch
• Comfortably plays soprano, alto, AND tenor recorders.
• Should be able to play comfortably in keys up to two flats or two sharps
• Is comfortable playing in cut-time and 6/8 time
• Must be able to comfortably play up an octave on the alto (including notes below the staff)
• Should be able to play at a reasonably fast speed
• Should be able to vary articulation styles
• Should be able to play the upper range of each recorder without difficulty

Note: Ensemble B people should NEVER get lost and NOT realize it (when they are in one spot and the ensemble is in another).  If this is a frequent occurrence, they will be asked to move back to Ensemble A.

Remember: There is always a certain amount of shifting between the two intermediate groups – people advancing due to improvement of their playing skills, and people going back a group for the more relaxed atmosphere, or if their skills have slipped somewhat due to lack of time to practice their recorders, or for experience while learning to play the bass.
