WRG MINI-WORKSHOPS 

WRG offers mini-workshops throughout the year on speciality topics taught by faculty invited from the tri-state area.  Past workshops have included: Cut-Time, Dotted Notes, Beginning Alto Recorder, Beginning Soprano Recorder, Music of Michael Praetorius, The Medici Codex.    In 2002 and also in 2005, coached ensemble classes were taught by recorder virtuoso, Geert van Gele, who was visiting from Belgium Another mini-workshop featured the members of the Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet  The 2007-2008 mini-workshop series is currently being planned. PREVIOUS WORKSHOPS

Beginning in 1987, Westchester Recorder Guild has held an annual Fall workshop. Some earlier workshop themes are: Sacred and Profane in Music; German Music Through the Ages; Italian Music from 1300 to 1750. Distinguished professional recorder players who have participated over the years include: the Loeki Amsterdam Recorder Quartet, Ken Andresen, Sheila Beardslee, Rachel Begley, Martha Bixler, Deborah Booth, Stan Davis, John DeLucia, Wayne Hankin, Richie Henzler, Valerie Horst, Susan Iadone, Wendy Powers, Pete Rose, Karen Snowberg, Susan Thompson, John Tyson, Trica van Oers, Ken Wollitz, and Larry Zukof.
